Charles Leclerc has revealed an exclusive job perk at Ferrari that both he and Lewis Hamilton can enjoy once Hamilton joins the team next year. Leclerc, who has been with Ferrari since 2019, shared that he has the unique privilege of being able to request to drive any Ferrari model, a benefit that Hamilton will soon experience as well.
Leclerc discussed this special perk during an appearance on the Box Box Box podcast, where he was asked if he could drive any Ferrari. He explained, “Well, I’m pretty sure that if I ask, ‘I would like to drive this car,’ then Ferrari would make it happen.” He emphasized how Ferrari could grant such requests, saying, “So this is obviously very, very special, whatever car, whichever year – yeah, Ferrari can make it happen.”
Hamilton will join Ferrari in 2025, replacing Carlos Sainz, who will move to Williams. The partnership between Leclerc and Hamilton will undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about team dynamics in Formula 1, with Hamilton being a seven-time World Champion. Leclerc spoke candidly about the future with Hamilton, highlighting how different it will be to work with the most successful driver in F1 history.
“We’ve always had a very special relationship with Carlos Sainz, and we have worked extremely well together. But looking forward, Lewis Hamilton is obviously a seven-time World Champion, the most successful driver in Formula 1 ever, so it’s going to be a big challenge for me, but I’m really looking forward to it,” said Leclerc.
The Ferrari driver is excited about the opportunity to learn from Hamilton while competing against him in the same car. “On one side, I will be able to learn from Lewis in the same car as him, which is great, but as well as trying to prove what I’m capable of in the same car as Lewis, and this is a big motivation for me.”
As Hamilton prepares to join Ferrari, fans are eager to see how this new pairing will shake up the Formula 1 grid and impact the team’s performance. Leclerc’s excitement and determination to prove himself alongside Hamilton are sure to make for an intriguing 2025 season.
